Chow Chow Missing Her Mom Has Emotional Reaction To FaceTime Call

As a dog parent, I always feel guilty when I have to leave the house. As soon as I walk out the door, I hear my two pups howling, an immediate sign of how much they’ll miss me while I’m gone. Our sweet doggos love spending as much time with us as possible. That’s why it’s so tough for them when we aren’t there, especially for extended periods. One precious Chow Chow was so sad about her owner being away for three weeks that she could barely bring herself to move off the couch. But thanks to FaceTime, she still got to chat to her mom. Watch as this unhappy pup tells Mom exactly how she feels about her business trip. Poor thing! Dogs are the best, and we really don’t deserve them. Read more:

Nothing Will Make You Cringe More Than The Removal Of A Giant Wasp Nest In New Zealand

Is there a more hated member of the animal kingdom than wasps? If you’re like most people, you already hate these buggers…a fact which will make the following video of a researcher excavating a giant wasp’s nest in New Zealand entirely terrifying. If You Hate Cutting Onions, There’s A Cheap Trick That’ll Make This Food Prep Much Easier

While frustration alone can make you shed a tear when chopping onions, the actual reason you cry is due to the chemical irritant syn-propanethial-S-oxide. You probably have your own way of quelling the tears — putting the onion in the freezer, lighting a candle, etc. — but what about the annoyance of actually chopping them evenly? This little trick teaches you the best way to cut up an onion so you don’t have pieces all over your counter and floor…you’re about to become the onion-chopping king. But if that doesn’t work for you, you could always do what this guy does…right? Read more:

Terrifying Olympics Luge Crash Leaves Crowd Totally Speechless

While most of us tune into the Winter Olympics to cheer on the athletes that have been chosen to represent our country, it’s important to remember that while these people may doing what they love, the dangers involved in many of the outdoor events are quite real. Whether you’re watching freestyle skiing, bobsled races, or even the luge, every sport comes with its own set of safety tips and precautions. The latter of those three sports can prove to be the most dangerous one of all. With speeds averaging more than 80 miles per hour, the luge is an extended, icy slide that competitors race down with only a helmet and knee pads to protect them. As the competitor’s adrenaline continues to rise, it’s important that they try to maintain control of their luge as to avoid a total wipeout. But unfortunately for those competing in PyeongChang, this particular course […]

Here’s The Scientific Way To Instantly Boost Your Mood And Make Yourself Happier

Life, it seems, is all about achieving our goals and finding what makes us happy. But if you think that once you find happiness, you’re going to be happy-go-lucky 24/7, I’m sorry to burst your bubble, but that’s simply unrealistic. We all strive to be happy, but what does that really mean? According to founding the father of the positive psychology movement, Martin Seligman, happiness is “experiencing frequent positive emotions, such as joy, excitement, and contentment, combined with deeper feelings of meaning and purpose.” And while not entirely wrong, Seligman’s notion of happiness implies that one can attain a constant status of optimism. But according to Lowri Dowthwaite or as her reputation has rebranded her, “Mrs. Happy,” happiness is much more flexible than we once thought. It might not be constant, but there are ways to create it! In recent years, researchers have argued the case that happiness is not […]

This Is The Amazing Story Of How People Turned A Homeless Family’s Life Around

As we settle in by the fire and enjoy unwrapping gifts with our loved ones, it’s important that we keep in mind not everyone has a home to go to this Christmas. One family of five in Greeley, Colorado, was destined to spend the holiday on a cold, broken down bus if not for the incredible generosity of others. Olivia, her partner, and her three children have spent the last few months homeless, living in a bus with no electricity and not much food. They didn’t have anything to look forward to this season. Then another family changed their lives for the better. While it’s hard enough for adults to live like this, Olivia had a five-year-old, a one-year-old, and a tiny, one-month-old baby to worry about. That’s where the Kinchs came in. Virginia Kinch and her family from Longmont have been doing their part to help the homeless however […]

Contagious Laughter On A Busy Train Will Have You Laughing Right Along With Everyone

When you think of the subway, laughter and joy aren’t normally the first words that come to mind. It’s a cramped place full of grumpy commuters, and there’s always someone who decides it’s an apt location to eat a smelly tuna sandwich or clip their fingernails. Yet sometimes, if you’re super lucky, everything comes together in one magical moment that brightens everyone’s day. One such joyful moment was perfectly captured when Belgian advertising agency Gonzales — working for Coca-Cola off the tagline that “Happiness starts with a smile” — hired an actor to randomly start belly laughing on the subway. Just watch…we dare you to try and not let out a giggle, too! Awesome. This just shows that happiness is contagious! Read more:

This Poor Donkey Had Known Nothing But Abuse…But Look At Him Now!

The people at Animal Aid Unlimited have helped countless animals in need before, mostly dogs and cows who roam India’s rural roads in the millions. But it’s not often that they come across donkeys. Donkeys are used as working animals in India and are generally treated with care. After all, a farmer’s livelihood might depend on the health of his livestock. However, this poor donkey was not so lucky. He had been horrendously abused by his owner and left to die by the side of a road. Luckily, Animal Aid was there to rescue him, heal his wounds, and give him a permanent, loving home at the Bonnie Christopher Forever Home for Donkeys. Seeing Lance at the end with all the other donkeys brought a huge smile to my face. Please consider donating here to Animal Aid Unlimited — without their incredible work, I don’t want to think about what […]

Orphaned Baby Manatees Saved By Humans Who Love Them

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DTBT_ATF’); }); Let’s face it: manatees are adorable. They’re also classified as a threatened species. In addition to loss of habitat, manatees also face dangers from boats and other watercraft, which is why you may see some with scars and injuries. When Bonnie, a momma manatee who has lived in the Florida Keys for over 20 years died from boat-related injuries, she left behind two babies who couldn’t survive without her. Scientists, law enforcement, and volunteers worked together to save these two calves. Back at the sanctuary, both babies will be bottle-fed and nursed back to health. Thanks to their rescuers, they may someday be able to live on their own in the wild. Maybe they’ll even wind up in a Calming Manatee meme. Faith in humanity restored. Read more:

If not, you might just think that its name is so absurd that it couldn’t possibly be a real thing. Parents Say Their Children Were Taken Away Because They Themselves Have Low IQs

There’s a lot of stigma around people with intellectual disabilities, especially when it comes to parenting. Up to 80 percent of people with intellectual disabilities who choose to become parents wind up having their children taken out of the home, either for a short period of time or permanently. Despite the fact that those with intellectual disabilities are protected under the same laws surrounding marriage and family planning as the rest of us, many are not given the support they need or are judged harshly despite being able to care for their children. Amy and Eric say their children, Christopher and Hunter, were taken from their home due to their low IQ scores. They say they were not neglectful, have regular high school diplomas, and have stable income. Screenshot Youtube / Inside Edition An anonymous tip to Child and Family Services reported them for allegedly being unable to care for […]

These Nutella-Stuffed Donut Holes Are The Best Homemade Dessert Ever

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DTBT_ATF’); }); It really surprises me that Nutella isn’t its own food group by now. Saying that I love Nutella is a bit of an understatement. I could eat it for every meal, straight out of the jar, if necessary. It wasn’t until college that I first tried the hazelnut treat, and ever since then, my addiction has taken over. While Nutella is perfect on it’s own, it can also be used to make some deliciously yummy treats and desserts. Take Nutella-stuffed donut holes, for example. Once you get even a whiff of these amazing treats, you’ll be begging for more. Listen Up, Home Cooks: He Knows The Secret To Cutting An Onion Without Tearing Up

As much as I love the taste of a nice slice of onion on my burger, I can’t get over the whole crying thing. I used to work in a grocery store where part of my job was to slice up onions for salads and other freshly made entrees, and let me tell you it was the absolute worst. Over the years, I’ve always thought that the type of onion was responsible for my emotionless tears, but as it turns out, that simply isn’t the case. YouTuber Jack Scalfani explains that the area where the roots of the onion were in the ground is the actual cause of watery eyes. After touching on the “root” of the problem, the masterful chef shows us how to cut an onion without shedding a tear. Take that, you edible monsters! Two Golden Retrievers Kept Their Owner Alive For Two Days After She Fell.

They say dogs are a man’s best friend, but apparently, they are also our guardian angels. A Florida woman suffered a near-fatal fall survived the ordeal thanks to her two golden retrievers, Higgins and Dodger. The 76-year-old broke her shoulder and bruised her head when she fell in her kitchen. The woman lives by herself and has Parkinson’s disease, so she could not get up on her own and drifted in and out of consciousness for two days. As she lay there helplessly for two days, the dogs stayed with her, not having any access to water or food during that time. The two dogs kept her warm, and kept her as comfortable as they could. But according to the woman, the main thing they did for her was to let her know that she was not alone. The woman was eventually found by a worried friend who had a […]

He Poured Water, Oil, And Syrup Into A Glass For A Really Cool Science Experiment

If you know anything about science, you’ve probably heard the term density floating around before. You may not fully understand how it works, and to be completely honest, neither do I (that’s why I got into the writing business, I wasn’t too good when it came to the periodic table). Then again, if density had been explained with this experiment, which anyone can do in their own home, I might have been more interested. Grab some syrup, oil, and water and watch this video! Pretty neat, right? I think we all have a much clearer understanding of density now, right? No? Yeah, me either, but that experiment is cool regardless! Read more:

Anyone With Eyes Can See That These Bears Are Starving, But The Zoo Says Otherwise

When we go to zoos, we expect to see healthy animals in good living conditions, but sadly, this isn’t always true. One zoo in Bandung, Indonesia, has been accused of animal cruelty and neglect and for good reason. The Bandung Zoo — where an endangered Sumatran elephant died in chains after being sick for a week and not receiving proper medical treatment last year — now has emaciated sun bears begging visitors for food in a concrete enclosure. The worst part is that zoo officials deny that they’re starving. The secretary general of Indonesia’s Zoo Association even said on January 18 that he had visited the zoo and found that the animals were healthy, even though it’s completely obvious that they aren’t. “Does being thin mean being unhealthy or not having enough food? On the other hand, looking fat does not mean an animal is healthy,” said Sudaryo, a spokesman […]

Watch The Incredible Transformation Of A Starving Street Dog Too Sick To Eat

When the angels at Animal Aid Unlimited heard about a dog living on the streets that looked more like a skeleton than a wandering stray, they knew they had to find and rescue the poor creature. What they found was a male dog in an absolutely horrific condition. The dog was so sick with mange that he had actually become too ill to eat. His rescuers quickly got him to the animal rescue center where he got IV fluids, nutritious food, and the medical care he so desperately needed to stand a chance at surviving. They ended up naming him Perry, and this is his incredible story! It’s hard to believe that is the same dog at the end. It’s good to see that Perry is finally getting the love he so desperately needed. Please consider donating here to Animal Aid Unlimited if you want to help them continue their […]

This Abused Dog Lived A Terrible Life In A Rusty Cage. Then Everything Changed.

Dogs are man’s best friend. They love us unconditionally, and they only ask for our attention and care in return. That’s why the responsibility to protect them is so great; by entrusting us with their very lives, their well-being is completely in our hands. As the saying goes, “With great power, comes great responsibility.” But what happens when people abuse that trust, and neglect their duty. When the very people entrusted to protect them… do the opposite?  One man figured out the answer. And it couldn’t have happened at a better time. Meet Billy the Puppy, along with his personal hero, Adam. Billy was found in a puppy mill in North Carolina by Adam and The Humane Society in late 2012. The puppy mill was beyond horrible, with animals in various stages of neglect and abuse. When Adam first saw Billy, he was trapped in a rusted shut crate and […]

What Thomas Edison Did To Show The World The Dangers Of Electricity Is Insane

Around the turn of the century, the United States was locked in an ideological battle over the future of the nation’s power grid. The two sides dealt with direct currents and alternating currents. While both forms of power deliver electricity, they do so differently. Thomas Edison was a firm believer in the direct current, while George Westinghouse and Nicola Tesla were proponents of using the alternating current. As a way to discredit his competitors, Edison held several public events during which he attempted to show the supposed dangers of using an alternating current. He did this by electrocuting and killing a number of animals with the technology. The biggest and most controversial of these events was held on Coney Island in New York City back in 1903. At this event, Edison electrocuted and killed a 36-year-old circus elephant by the name of Topsy. Cameras were rolling so that future generations […]

This Is Why You Hire Professionals When You Need To Raze A Structure

There’s nothing more defeating than when you have to call a handyman to take care of business, but when it comes to demolition, you should definitely leave it to the professionals. This guy was tired of his old silo, so he decided to take a sledge hammer to it himself. I’m sure he just wanted to put a dent in it, but wait until you see what happened. Warning: language is definitely NSFW. I’m not even sure what happened here. Is this guy really that strong, or was his silo built out of graham crackers? Either way, I’m glad he got out of there before gravity could punish him for following through with such a horrible idea. Read more:
