Carl Cameron at Foxnews.com reported Sunday Newt Gingrich aides are floating the idea of a Newt Gingrich-Rick Perry ticket:
Sources close to the Gingrich campaign say preliminary “what-if” conversations are underway that could lead to a Gingrich-Perry ticket being announced prior to the Republican National Convention at the end of August.
A top Gingrich aide, Kevin Kellems, went on record last night to say that Gingrich has not spoken with Perry about naming him as a running mate. That wouldn’t preclude the possibility that staffers from the two camps have communicated about the matter.
@BillHemmer If you mean Gingrich/Perry, it is just a sad gimmick by Newt to attract attention. Another of his hair-brain ideas with no merit
