A Man Kayaking Through Flood Waters Spotted A Tiny Squirrel In Trouble

A flood surveyor was paddling his kayak through waters in Fenton, MO, when he made quite the discovery. There was a little squirrel struggling in the current. The flood waters were fast moving, so the kayaker helped the waterlogged squirrel out. “I saw this little guy jump and try to swim for a bigger tree for safety, but the current was just too strong. You can see him jump from the tree in front of me and start swimming but the current was quickly pulling him downstream. I know squirrels don’t understand English but I couldn’t help but yell out some positive encouragement.” The current was almost too strong for this little guy. Silly squirrel, you shouldn’t be swimming! YouTube Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/kayaker-saves-squirrel/

Everyone Has Watched Dominoes Fall Before... But This? I'm Totally Mesmerized.

Everyone Has Watched Dominoes Fall Before… But This? I’m Totally Mesmerized.

I used to love the “idea” of dominoes. I’d set up a handful, and watch them magically knock each other down, succumbing the gravity. I even liked to do little tricks, whether trying to go down some stairs, or land one on my sleeping dog 😉 But I lacked the patience to make them bigger, and better. And I especially couldn’t convince my parents to buy hundreds of them. So when I saw what this guy did with not hundreds, but tens of thousands of dominoes, you can imagine how I felt. “He lived my dream!” Oh well, he truly is “king of the dominoes!” A YouTuber named Hevesh5, a professional domino artist and aspiring filmmaker, designs and builds intricate domino setups and chain reactions for your entertainment and for commercial projects. He started building dominoes in 2009, and owns over 32,000 dominoes. Today, he creates tons of domino videos for […]

This Little Girl Never Saw Or Heard Her Mother Until This Amazing Moment

At 2 years old, Nicolly Pereira never saw nor heard her mother. This toddler from Brazil was both deaf and blind. She was diagnosed with pediatric glaucoma after birth. The glaucomas in her eyes were so bad, she couldn’t even see light. Her mother was desperate to help her little girl. Nicolly received seven different surgeries in her home of Santa Catarina, Brazil, but they were unsuccessful. But then her mother, Daiana Pereira, posted Nicolly’s story on Facebook. It went viral…and eventually, a Facebook user from Miami contacted the Jackson Health Foundation’s International Kids Fund (Wonderfund) on behalf of Nicolly. The Fund partnered with the Kevin Garcia Foundation and together the organizations raised $17,000 to pay for Nicolly’s surgery at Bascom Palmer. For months, Daiana believed her child was developmentally disabled. Not only was the toddler deaf and blind, but she could not talk or walk. Amazingly, when Nicolly and […]

This Takes Internet Addiction To A New Level Of Crazy. These People Need Help…LOL.

In today’s world, it’s nearly impossible to go more than an hour with some sort of connection to the Internet. Computers, laptops, tablets, iPhones, everything… we’re always a click away from unlimited information and stupidity. So what happens when it goes from a part of life to an unhealthy obsession? This happens: 1. Never, ever borrow this girl’s laptop. 2. Dad of the Year. 3. Prioritize: Internet first, health second. 3. Laziness at its best. 4. The beach is nothing without my PC. 5. Creative… but no. 6. You, sir, have a problem. 7. The best part about this is that he woke up from a keyboard nap once, rolled over, and did it again. 8. WHAT. 9. Okay, I completely approve of this. 10. 4,393,294 soda calories later… 11. And then there’s this, which is just adorable. I would make some kind of joke about these people being ridiculous, […]

It Was A Normal Day In The Ocean When This Giant Fish Ball Formed -- It's No Joke

It Was A Normal Day In The Ocean When This Giant Fish Ball Formed — It’s No Joke

In the Syfy Movie, “Sharknado,” a group of scientists fight off a natural disaster of sharky proportions hell-bent on destroying the few things still good in the world. And these anchoveta fish? They’ve decided to fight fire with fire. As the currents in the southeastern Pacific Ocean begin to shift, the changes bring with them an over abundance of nutrients and plankton. With more fish food in the water, this makes the entire area more susceptible to large predators like sharks and tuna. To protect themselves from becoming afternoon snacks, smaller fish, such as anchovetas, are left to fend for themselves. Before long, the sea is stormed by fishnado. This Footage Of A Soviet Grocery Store Right Before The Fall Will Make You Hungry

googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display(‘VN_PG_DTBT_ATF’); }); It’s no secret that life in the Soviet Union was tough. Food shortages and an oppressive regime made for uneasy conditions, to say the least. However, toward the end of the Soviet Union’s reign, there was a slight thawing in relations with the West. That thawing (some might argue) led directly to the downfall of the entire Soviet way of life. While there are some things about the system that are truly missed by those who grew up under it, many facets of it are better off forgotten. Like the average Soviet grocery store, for example. It’s hard to imagine a poorly stocked grocery store with more empty shelves than cans of food, but that’s what people used to live with. Luckily for us, there is some old footage of these shops floating around out there that was shot just before the fall of the Soviet […]

Everyone Is Going Nuts Over This Olympian's Triple Axel, And Here's Why

Everyone Is Going Nuts Over This Olympian’s Triple Axel, And Here’s Why

On February 11, 2018, Mirai Nagasu became the first American woman to land a triple axel at the Olympics, and the only other American woman to do so in competition. The axel jump is considered the most technically difficult jump in single figure skating, making the triple axel especially difficult to perform. When Nagasu pulled it off beautifully during the 2018 Olympic Games, she made history, prompting fans to scream in acclamation and inspiring countless news outlets to sing the praises of her incredible achievement. Watch as Nagasu nails the triple axel and becomes a skating legend. So why is it such a huge accomplishment? As Vox explains, an understanding of physics is crucial to successful executions. Skaters have to generate enough vertical and rotational velocity with their bodies on the ice during takeoff, or else they won’t be able to spin fast enough for three turns. YouTube / Vox […]

12 People Who Did Ancestry DNA Tests For Fun And Got More Than They Bargained For

Thanks to the innovative and ever-developing technology of the modern age, learning about where you came from is as easy as spitting in a cup. Genetic tests revealing your ancestry and personal health-related information, such as the “23andMe” DNA test, are just a click away for consumers interested in examining their lineage — no health care professional needed. That’s why a lot people take them just for fun. But as described in these 12 testing stories, a person’s results can reveal seriously uncomfortable truths they never expected to face. 1. “My mom did 23 and Me this summer, it came back saying my uncle was only a half uncle. She asked family friends and it turns out my grandmother had an affair and passed my mom off as her father’s kid — a fact that my grandmother clearly intended to take to her grave but science caught up.” — reverendexile […]

This Blue Box Contains A Special Kind Of Medicine That Every Hospital Should Have

Hospitals are largely depressing places. If you’re in one, most of the time it means that you’re injured, in poor health, or someone you know is spending time there for similar reasons. It’s safe to say that few people enjoy going to the hospital. So sometimes it’s necessary to brighten the mood a bit. These people have come up with a way to lift the spirits of the patients in one Canadian hospital. It’s hard to say goodbye to our furry friends just for the day, while we go off to work, so I can only imagine spending weeks or even months apart. What a wonderful way to bring a bit of joy to these hospital patients’ days. Hopefully this program keeps up and pets can be in all hospitals soon! Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/pet-medicine/

Smartest Thing Ever Or The Saddest? Stray Dog Fakes Injury To Get Attention

Anyone with a devious dog knows that they’re smarter than they seem. My pup often manages to mislead me into thinking he’s being a good boy when he’s definitely not. For stray dogs who live their lives on the streets, they’ve got to use those brains to get things like food in order to survive. One homeless pup in Vietnam, however, was recently seen doing something in order to capture the attention of passersby that’s so crazy you kind of have to see it to believe it. I don’t know whether I should be laughing at this pup’s ingenuity or crying that it’s necessary. Watch until the very end! Youtube / ViralPaws He’s definitely got street smarts, that’s for sure. Cameras Caught This Worker Jumping Out Of A Window After Being Yelled At By Her Boss

Cameras Caught This Worker Jumping Out Of A Window After Being Yelled At By Her Boss

No one enjoys being yelled at by their boss. Sadly though, it’s bound to happen at least once. In those moments, we have to remember that even though we’re being yelled at, we’re still worthwhile. Sure the boss is mad now, but they won’t always be mad and they might even apologize later. Still, that doesn’t make it sting any less when it happens. Bosses, on the other hand, also need to be careful when they’re dishing out the tongue lashings. Berating someone could trigger an underlying mental health issue which can lead to tragic situations. A video currently going viral shows CCTV footage of a boss berating an employee. After he walks away the employee calmly stands up, walks to the window, opens it, and jumps out before her fellow employees know what’s going on. This (potentially fake) video contains content that some might find disturbing. (via Daily Mail) […]

Real People Actually Found These Terrifying Creatures Living Inside Of Them. Yikes.

We all want someone to share or lives with, but for whatever reason, doing the same with a bug doesn’t have the same appeal. Perhaps because sharing your life with another person involves sleeping in the same bed. Sharing your life with a bug means having it live inside of your body. It may not have the same annoying family members that you have to deal with during the holidays, but even the worst mother-in-law wouldn’t think of crawling inside of your ear. The people in the (extremely graphic) pictures below had to deal with various bugs living inside of their persons and, well, it isn’t pretty. WARNING: If you’re even the least bit squeamish, this simply isn’t for you.   1.) After waking up with an earache, this Australian man discovered a cockroach crammed in his ear. Cosmo News 2.) If They Hadn’t Resorted To This Drastic Measure, They Might Have Died More Quickly

We’re still discovering new things about Cuba all the time. The stories that come out of this the country that spent decades isolated from the rest of the world are sometimes astonishing and heartbreaking. One such story is the plight of Los Frikis, a Cuban punk community that emerged in the ’80s. Los Frikis drew inspiration from other punk movements around the globe. While members of punk movements are often marginalized, in Cuba, they were persecuted. Many were rejected by their families, harassed, arrested, and forced to do manual labor for their “crimes.” To escape their oppression, hundreds in the community took the drastic step of injecting themselves with the HIV virus, which little was known about then. They were able to take shelter in sanatoriums where they were provided with medical care, food, and safety. Read More: He Believes He Can Cure Even The Worst Diseases…But The Treatment Is […]

13 Awesomely Unique Ways You Can Use Chalk

You’ve Seen Surfing Dogs Before, But A Surfing Chicken? That’s New

For anyone that’s ever had the pleasure of traveling to the Florida Keys knows that there are chickens everywhere. Watch The Terrifying Moment A Little Boy With An Umbrella Gets Struck By Lightning

They say lightning never strikes the same place twice, so hopefully this young boy survived his first and only run-in with the terrifying act of nature. A young boy from Argentina was captured on film enjoying a leisurely jaunt in the rain. Fascinated with his house’s gutters, the boy stood underneath them as the heavy storm water rained down on his umbrella. Having had enough fun under there, he decided to skip through the garden when a bolt of lightning struck his umbrella in a blinding flash of light. Fortunately, the strike narrowly missed him and he survived the potentially deadly attack without any physical harm. (via Daily Mail) That was close! I think if I were the young boy, I’d think twice before playing around in the rain again. Read more: http://www.viralnova.com/umbrella-strike/

A UFO Spotted In This Video Might Explain Last Week’s SpaceX Rocket Explosion

Last week, the world was shocked when a rocket from Elon Musk’s famed private space flight company SpaceX exploded on the launch pad at Cape Canaveral during a test. A Home With Two Babies Inside Caught Fire. This Unlikely Hero Saved Their Lives.

Many see homeless people as nuisances who only beg for handouts and contribute nothing to society. But had this man not been around, two small children would have probably died. On December 1, a Las Vegas man was cooking breakfast when his stove caught fire. It didn’t take long for the flames to spread throughout the apartment. While he was fortunate enough to escape through a back window with the help of his neighbors, his grandchildren were still trapped inside. The man hadn’t been able to reach his three-year-old granddaughter and 10-month-old grandson before he jumped out to safety. Time was running out for the two as the flames engulfed everything around them. YouTube / KTNV Channel 13 Las Vegas Just as the grandfather got out, a homeless man named Anival Angulo happened to walk by the burning apartment. In the minutes following his arrival, he became a hero. YouTube […]

‘Dishwasher Cooking’ Is Apparently A Thing That People Are Doing Now…

Dishwashers have been used for one general purpose for a long time now. But people who grew bored of the appliance only accomplishing one task have found a genius way of utilizing it for even more. Enter: dishwasher cooking. Yes, it sounds gross and soapy and not very healthy, but if you do it correctly, you can prepare some delicious meals in the dishwasher while your plates and utensils get clean, too! What you need to do in order for this to work is place your food in an air-tight container. Turn the dishwasher on its highest setting and it’ll do the work for you! The hot water rushing around the containers means that everything from vegetables to seafood and even poultry is cooked evenly! Unbelievable! Yes, you can even cook lobster in the dishwasher. Does Your College Kid Love Instant Ramen? You Should Show Them This

When you’re in a pinch and need a quick and easy dinner option, you might turn to instant noodles like ramen. While these inexpensive noodles have become a staple in college cuisine, they’re not exactly something that many would deem a healthy meal. Just like any other highly processed food, they can be full of salt and other ingredients that have been linked to various medical problems and conditions. I was never the biggest fan of ramen noodles during my time at college, and now that I’ve read about the heath risks that they carry with them, I definitely won’t be putting them in my shopping cart anytime soon. Ramen noodles do not digest like most foods. In the video below, you can see the noodles sitting in the stomach hours after being consumed. This can spell trouble for the digestive system, which is forced to work overtime to try […]

Google Play audiobooks get Smart Resume, bookmarks and Assistant routines support

Google Play Audiobooks is getting a major update today that adds a number of new features to the service that were sorely missing when it launched earlier this year. None of these are groundbreaking, but they’ll help Google reach feature parity with some of its competitors while injecting a bit of its proprietary smarts into the process, too. Maybe the most useful new feature in today’s release is Smart Resume. Instead of picking up in the middle of a sentence or even word when your audiobook playback gets interrupted (maybe by Google Maps giving you directions or a friendly passerby who is asking for directions while you are clearly listening to an audiobook). Depending on the length of the interruption, this new feature will smartly rewind to the beginning of the word or sentence to help you stay in the flow. Also new in this update are the ability to […]

This Stranger’s Act Of Kindness Has Changed A Homeless War Veteran’s Life Forever

Max Zahir was at a gas station when a homeless man came up and asked him for change. Instead of change, however, Zahir gave him something so much more important. Zahir invited the homeless man, who turned out to be a war veteran, to hop in his car and get a meal with him. The vet was so grateful, but he never expected to hear what Zahir told him next. (via Huffington Post) This man’s selflessness cannot go unnoticed. Our war veterans deserve so much more than we give them, and all this guy wanted was some food and a friend. Thanks to Mr. Zahir, he got both of those things…and then some. After this video went viral, the homeless man was offered a home by an organization called Carry Me Productions, and he was even offered a job at a local restaurant. That’s so incredible! They Managed To Enter The World's Only Floating McDonald's...And It Was Creepy AF

They Managed To Enter The World’s Only Floating McDonald’s…And It Was Creepy AF

In 1986, the World Exposition on Transportation and Communication (aka Expo 86) was held in Vancouver, British Columbia, and McDonald’s was determined to have the best exhibit. Thus the “McBarge” was built on the waters of False Creek. The world’s second floating McDonald’s restaurant was supposed to be the centerpiece of waterfront development and new technologies in the area. Unfortunately, the McBarge never became as popular as its creators had hoped, and has since been abandoned. But luckily, through a strange Canadian maritime law loophole, the guys at Vancouver’s Worst Ghost Hunters gained access and filmed what’s left of it. As a guy who gets seasick inanely easy, the combination of being out on the water and devouring fast food doesn’t exactly entice me, so I can see why this place closed down. Since the filming, the barge was moved to Maple Ridge, British Columbia, where it was refit. Apparently, […]

Final chapter? The slow death of Islamabad’s secondhand bookshops

Since the 1970s, old bookshops have lent character to Pakistans capital. But as the citys economy surges, how long can they survive? Nadeem Ahmad Siddiqui is holding court with a group of friends and regulars at his Islamabad bookshop, Jumbo. The jovial chatter and tea drinking is broken up every so often by a customer seeking Siddiquis help. One child is gently admonished to find something more stimulating to read, while a question about medical textbooks from a mother and daughter soon turns into an animated discussion about India-Pakistan relations. Tucked away in the corner of a busy commercial sector, unassuming Jumbo Books has iconic status among Islamabads old bookshops, as secondhand book stores are known here. Once the nondescript doorway is located among the swanky new restaurants and fashion boutiques of Pakistans capital, the visitor takes a staircase down to a concrete basement. Inside are shelves piled high with […]

Every Day, School Children In Japan Both Work During — And Enjoy — Lunchtime
